Why the name Rusk?
In 1840, two brothers William Sharp Peebles and Joseph Rusk Peebles established the first mercantile house in Cincinnati, which was located at the corner of Madison Road and Woodburn Ave. In 1866, Woodburn Avenue was named Rusk Road – after Joseph Rusk Peebles. Glad they used his middle name for the street, because Joe Road sounds silly.
Do you have parking?
There is plenty of metered street parking available. But don’t forget to empty your piggy bank to feed your meter or download the Cincy EZPark app. There are also two public parking lots: a lot next to Woodburn Brewing, and the Madison lot between Madison Rd. and Myrtle Ave. east of the Greater Cincinnati Behavioral Health Services. There is a credit card-only kiosk in each lot for hourly parking or use the convenient Cincy EZPark app.
